Noel Photo Teaser
Posted: August 11th, 2010 | Author: alice | Filed under: personal, portraits | 2 Comments »Yesterday, I painted red on Noel’s half-upper body for photo shooting. I enjoyed taking photos of her and it was an experimental shooting for me. Noel did well in the modeling, she looked confident and flexible. Moreover, Noel has an unique feature and she reminded me of the supermodel, Jenny Shimizu (when she was young) while I worked on the series on my computer. I had a magnificent time in working with her. I present you herewith a sneak peek of the photo:

Doors Open Toronto
Posted: June 4th, 2010 | Author: alice | Filed under: personal | No Comments »Last weekend, there was an event called Doors Open Toronto. It has over 150 buildings of architectural, historic, cultural and social opened their doors to the public for showing their interior structures. My friend and I went over nine places in two days, May 29th – 30th from 10am to 5pm. It was fun and worth to explore. I took some pictures:
May 29th

Liberty Village reminded me of Brooklyn, New York because they are feeling-like integrated vintage and contemporary style.

Mountain Equipment Co-op’s (MEC) Green Roof

MEC’s Green Roof is really beautiful because I can view downtown Toronto well.

401 Richmond is a historic warehouse and it is an affordable workspaces for artists and creative enterprises. I was dumbfounded when I saw a sign noted “Rooftop Garden” because I have attended that building before with no clue about the rooftop access. The rooftop garden offers spectacular views, including downtown Toronto and CN Tower!

John St. Roundhouse

May 30th

I really like this mixed vintage and contemporary bar inside of the Gladstone Hotel. The Gladstone Hotel is really wicked because it is ahistoric building and it has 37 individually artist-designed rooms.

Doors Open Toronto is a good benefit for me to gain more knowledge of Toronto metropolitan areas. It is also good reference for photo shootings. I will definitely come back next year for this great event.
Montreal
Posted: June 4th, 2010 | Author: alice | Filed under: personal | 5 Comments »At last, I have a free time to exhibit photos that I took in Montreal in the past weeks. I enjoyed my time in Montreal with my parents and I shall go back for another visit someday.

Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal

Inside of the Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal have beautiful interior architecture.

Schwartz’s is the BEST for its world famous smoked meat that melted in my mouth when I eat it….oh god! It was worth for me to wait in the long lineup.

Chinatown (I thought I give a try to tweak this photo for fun).

Old Montreal…I love that town!

Ally became deaf when she was 1 and 1/2 years old due to chemotherapy treatment which helped to cure cancer in her left arm. It remain a huge scar on her left arm. She is now studying at Rochester Institute of Technology to pursue a bachelor degree of Graphic Design.

Posted: April 6th, 2010 | Author: alice | Filed under: portraits | 3 Comments »My good friend, Dora and her husband Mike with their new son, Phillip visited Toronto from Pennsylvania the past weekend. My other good friends and I were so excited to meet Phillip….

I enjoyed taking pictures of Phillip. He did good job in the pictures because he smiled naturally and giggled a lot.
Mike asked me, “How did you feel when Dora appeared, carrying her newborn son in the room?”
I replied, “Time sure flies!” Dora, our friends Lesley and Sharon, and I have been friends together for over twenty years since we met through elementary school and throughout high school. Each of us walked on different paths when we graduated high school, but we still kept in touch and meet every once in a while. We are fortunate to have each other.
